Already a respite provider? Want to become one? Attend our Pediatric Respite Worker Training - ONLINE! and learn strategies for being the best respite worker anyone ever had!

The In-Person Workshop will be offered again during the Breaking Through Barriers conference

What will you learn?

Parent Respect covers the many facets of being a special needs parent - the grief cycle, the legitimate struggles that are unique to Montana, the ways that respite workers can actually hamper communications, setting boundaries, and how to let people know you are a respite provider.

Communication covers the amazing process that happens in your brain when you speak - and when you listen. It covers best practices for communicating with a non-verbal child - and how to pair (create a relationship) with that child.

Behavior 101 helps you understand the functions of behavior - and how to use positive reinforcement and de-escalation tips to help address challenging behavior.

The respite programs at Peace Place are funded in part (about one-third) under a Contract with the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services. The statements herein do not necessarily reflect the opinion of the Department.
